Capital Psychology Clinic is Hiring!

Capital Psychology Clinic is looking for a motivated and passionate Clinical or Registered Psychologist to join our well established and close working team. We are a highly regarded, secure practice that has developed close working relationships with local psychiatrists, paediatricians, schools and government agencies who meet with us regularly to offer a collaborative, friendly team environment. We pride ourselves on only practicing best practice, evidence based approaches to servicing our community for pre-natal, children, adolescents, family and adult therapy. We also have a very active calendar of group therapy. Capital Psychology Clinic takes pride in supporting our local community through participation in annual charity events, supporting small local businesses and providing and participating in active supervision within the Canberra Medical Community which all team members are encouraged to participate in.

Specific Role

We are looking for a fully Registered Psychologist who has specific knowledge and training in working with and assessing children and adolescents with Autism. This role is a specific role to focus on the high case load of Autism specific support that our practice is well known for. Due to overwhelming demand we require a full time position to focus on treating children on the Autism Spectrum, supporting their families, using evidenced based approaches and working in collaboration with other allied health agencies including speech and occupational therapy.

What We Offer

Capital Psychology Clinic has a full time position for a Psychologist with specific training and experience working with children with Autism and their families. Due to this specific role, we are offering an over-sized, specifically designed Autism specific therapy room for the right candidate to be able to set up a large practice area, including sensory area and therapy area to support their clientele and families.

Capital Psychology Clinic has specifically designed and built a new practice for 2018 that focuses on client needs as well as providing a comfortable, new, clean and appropriate therapy and office space for their team. This includes dimable lighting and superior sound proofing for therapy needs with large windows for all therapy rooms. We also have a purpose built group therapy room where several weekly groups are conducted.

Capital Psychology Clinic offers a tight network of group supervision with other allied and specialised medical professions including Paediatricians and Psychiatrists on a regular basis with health professionals who we work closely with. We also have in house supervision groups who meet regularly. Finally, we hold regular, catered team meetings to ensure clear team communication and support.

Capital Psychology Clinic also provides financial assistance to team members for specific training and CPD needs.

While we have a large clinical referral demand for Autism specific therapy and assessment we encourage those who may not want to work full time to apply as a split position will be considered to meet referral demands. We also provide after hours and Saturday services therefore encourage those who wish to work these hours.

Capital Psychology Clinic provides a full time reception team that covers weekdays, after hours and weekend reception, providing comprehensive and professional support with multiple reception team members working together across all weekdays to meet the demand.

Capital Psychology Clinic provides a very comprehensive and generous contract package that includes a minimum of 6 weeks leave per year, financial support for training and flexible working hours to support your lifestyle and family. We encourage all psychologists to engage in self care and plan a working week that will allow them to work to their potential and gain the most out of their position as well as their lifestyle.

Capital Psychology Clinic has a team of 11 psychologists who are dynamic, friendly and present with a multitude of special interests and practice areas that allows us to build a supportive and caring team that enjoys out of work celebrations, drinks and annual charity balls and events. We also provide a full team member and partners inclusive Christmas party each year to end on a high note before our shut down period. Since the beginning of Capital Psychology Clinic no clinical team member has left our practice, therefore this opportunity is rare and is now available due to our expansion in 2018 with our specifically designed practice.
